Classic Handwoven Bamboo Pendant Light – Plug In / Swag

A plug-in swag pendant light is a type of pendant lighting fixture that lights up the room by being plugged it into an electrical outlet, rather than hardwired into the ceiling. The term "swag" refers to the decorative cable or cord, hanging gracefully or wrapped around brackets, pillars or stands. Swag lights are some of our most popular light choices as they offer tons of versatility and simple set-up.

Because swag lights are designed to be versatile, allowing for adjustable hanging heights, the length of the cable is a key factor in achieving your look. Essentially, you need at least enough length to allow for the light fixture to be hung from your chosen spot and plugged into an electrical outlet. A long swag light cord provides the freedom to position the light at different heights based on individual preferences and allows you to merge the lighting cord with your space - wrapped around pillars, hanging from coat racks etc. Our swag lights are available in any cable length to suit any setup, simply enter your preferred length when selecting a pendant kit option.

Handwoven bamboo pendant lights bring more of an ambient or decorative lighting vibe to your space, rather than being the primary source of lighting. The intricate design of the bamboo weave creates a dance of shadows and patterns, adding a decorative touch as well as illumination.

Changing the shape of your pendant shade is very simple - the flexible design means you can compress and expand the shape in your hands. Once you feel you have a shape you wish to keep, hold it in place, and use the supplied twine (or any material of your choice) to tie the shape in place, with the twine tied at the neck and at bottom of the basket. A guide and visual instructions are also included in the package.

While the light bulb is not included, you can use any bulb that has the thread type E26 or E27. These are widely available bulb types, possibly the most commonly used worldwide. We recommend low-watt, energy saving LED bulbs, or vintage styled bulbs as seen in the pictures. Not only do these bulbs look fantastic, but they help to to protect the bamboo from heat damage.

You can use the bamboo pendant shades indoors or outdoors, but if you're going for the outdoor vibe, you'll need a separately purchased pendant fixture kit that can handle all types of weather. Our pendant kit cable sets are meant for indoor use unless stated otherwise.
