RUSTIC WHITE PENDANT LIGHTS - FAQ

Can white pendant lights be used in any style of decor?

For sure, white goes with everything, right? White pendant lights do too, as their neutral color lends itself well to tons of home decor aesthetics, traditional or trending. White pendants are common in modern and contemporary spaces, places with a clean, sophisticated atmosphere, but they can work equally well in rustic or bohemian interiors.

With a whitewash paint job, these pendant lights give off a coastal vibe that is earthy and vintage. The minimalist weave design carries a strong elegance while having a light and airy feel overall.

Even in industrial settings, white pendant lights can introduce a touch of contrast, with the haphazard, vintage-inspired tones of the shade fitting in with the raw and rugged stylings of an industrial theme.

Whether your space is modern, traditional, eclectic, or somewhere in between, these are pendants that bring real character and charm to your space.

Are there different shades of white for pendant lights?

Yes, as there are many shades of white, there are many shades of white pendant lights. We use pure white paint for our pendants, brushing them with a light coat, not fully covering the natural wood. This results in a vibrant white tone that is bright but has a worn, aged appearance—your quintessential whitewashed wood style. With a careful lick of paint, we manage to create rustic white pendant lights without losing the charm and natural textures of the wood underneath.

What types of bulbs are suitable for white pendant lights?

Picking the right bulbs for your white pendant lights is kind of like choosing the perfect toppings for your pizza—it's a personal choice that can change everything. Except there's no pineapple, so you're pretty safe regardless of what you go for. Check out some of our personal favorites:

LED Bulbs: LED lightbulbs are super energy-efficient and are now so widespread that they can be found in endless different shapes and hues. The color and tone can make a big difference; we like to go for a warm color to create a cozy feel or a classic cool white for a much more modern and clean vibe.

Incandescent Bulbs: These are the older-style bulbs, the non-fancy, everyday type. These classics emit a traditional warm glow—perfect for creating a nice and relaxed atmosphere. However, they're just not that energy-efficient compared to modern LED bulbs.

Edison Bulbs: Our faves! These beauties are the trendiest in the lighting world. You've probably seen them hanging in hipster coffee shops, chic restaurants, beach cafes, and more. Oh, and of course, in many of our product photos. We're big fans of those exposed filaments and that vintage flair. We reckon they're perfect for a rustic theme, with soft and uniquely intimate illumination.

Ultimately, it's all about the mood you're going for, the vibe, and the atmosphere you want to create. Building a cozy little nest somewhere you can curl up with a good book? Go for warm white, or maybe an Edison bulb. Looking for something cleaner, more modern, and sleeker? Cool white is the one. Mix and match; try a few out; as long as the thread type is E26 or E27, you're good to go.

Can these pendant lights be dimmed?

We've tested our pendant kits with dimmable bulbs and a standard dimmer wall switch, and all is good. However, we can't guarantee dimming ability with every system or bulb, so it may be hit and miss. Typically, the bulb is the main factor, so if you're using a dimmable bulb, there's a good chance you'll be able to dim the brightness without issue. But again, there's no guarantee, so think of it as a possible bonus.

How do I install a cluster of white pendant lights?

Installing a pendant cluster light is pretty much the same as installing an individual pendant, as there's still just a single canopy. Full instructions are included in the package, and installation can be completed by almost anyone, regardless of experience. We've outlined the basic steps for you:

Turn Off Power: Super important, this step! Turn off the power via your circuit breaker box. Make sure everything is off. This is a crucial step; don't forget it! If the power is not off, you're probably going to get a nasty shock, so please make sure it is off before installing anything!

Attach the canopy bracket: There's a metal mounting bracket that eventually sits inside the rear of the canopy, holding it in place. Take this bracket and mount it to your ceiling. Normally, there's a little hole where all the wires and stuff go, along with something to screw the bracket into. You'll want to make sure it's nice and tight, attached securely, as with three hanging shades, a cluster fixture can be quite heavy.

Connect wires: Lift up your pendant lights and match the color-coded wires from behind the canopy to the wires in the ceiling electrical box. Basically, just connect the corresponding hot wires and the corresponding neutral wires. Wire colors can vary depending on the region, but you can easily find out which color corresponds to which wire with a quick online search if needed. Match hot and hot, neutral and neutral, basically.

Secure the cluster: Ok, now that your wires are connected, grab the ceiling canopy and fit it on to the previously mounted bracket. Ensure it's nice and level, then tighten it in place with screws.

Bulb Installation: You're basically done; now just add your bulbs. Carefully screw a bulb into each of the bulb holders.

Final adjustments: Adjust the height of each pendant shade to your desired length using the cable brackets and cord grips. Double-check all connections and ensure that each pendant is securely attached to the ceiling canopy.

Power On: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and take a look. Do you have light? Hopefully! If not, go back through the previous steps and double-check everything was done correctly, or start fresh.

Of course, if you're unsure about any part of the installation process, don't YOLO it, bring in a professional electrician for assistance.
