RUSTIC PENDANT LIGHT DETAILS
This rustic pendant light shade is handmade in Chiang Mai, Thailand, by skilled artisan basket weavers. Natural bamboo is used, carved, and then woven, creating a connection to nature and a sense of authenticity. A soft glow emitted by the bulb peeks playfully through the bamboo strips, drifting throughout the surroundings like waves lapping the shore.
Three sizes of shade are available. The largest size makes for a fantastic statement piece, while the smaller sized pendants are perfect for a quiet nook, or at home hanging either side of the bed.
To complement those beautiful textures and tones of bamboo, pair the pendant shade with one of our popular thick rope pendant kits. Each kit offers an eye-catching and distinct design, with the thick jute rope adding some additional rustic flair. Installation is simple, with a standard hardwired canopy setup. A choice of natural wood or black metal canopies make this pendant work with any design theme, especially farmhouse, coastal, or industrial styles.
A similar shade without the ‘neck’ at the top is also available as a farmhouse pendant light.

WHAT BULB WORKS WITH A RUSTIC PENDANT LIGHT?
While not included, any light bulb that has an E26 or E27 thread type is compatible with this rustic pendant light. These are the most common, available in almost any lighting store, so there should be no problem finding the perfect bulb for your vibe. Bulb shape, color, or hue is not too important; it needs only to have the correct thread type, so experiment!
Our recommendation? A classic vintage-style bulb, such as an Edison bulb with an exposed vintage filament. Are they considered a little bit cliche nowadays? Well, maybe. I think it’s the law to use them in a hipster coffee shop, but we’re huge fans regardless. As you might have seen, we use this type of bulb in many of our product photos. We love a light that’s not too overpowering, and they bathe the bamboo in a soft, warm glow.
HOW LONG DOES SHIPPING TAKE?

More information about shipping and delivery can be found on our FAQ page.
ARE THESE RUSTIC PENDANTS REALLY HAND-CRAFTED?
Yes! Just look at them. Every pendant light shade carries subtle differences that are really only visible when you get close. Maybe the shape of one bamboo basket differs ever so slightly from the next, or the natural tones and hues of the bamboo strips may differ between sections or shades. These perfect imperfections are inherent to authentic craftsmanship.Â
CAN I USE THIS RUSTIC PENDANT LIGHT OUTDOORS?
Well, kinda. Our rustic pendant light shades are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use; they’re made from natural bamboo, after all. That said, our jute rope pendant kits are only for indoor use. Don’t string them up in the garden using these kits unless they are covered.
If you really want to hang these beauties outside where they are exposed to rain and the elements, pair the shade with a cable set made specifically for all-weather, purchased separately. They’re easy enough to find in most lighting or electrical stores; just look for one that is weather-rated.
