What makes this batik bolster cushion so special? Firstly, it’s the fabric used. Not only is it hand-woven and hand-dyed, but the pattern itself is gorgeous. Each of the block motifs is hand-applied using traditional batik methods: coated with beeswax and then stamped onto the base fabric using blocks fashioned from wood and metal. The indigo dye cannot penetrate the waxed area of the fabric, resulting in lighter sections among the indigo and an eye-catching finish.

As well as being authentically artisan, we elegantly finish our batik bolster cushions with corded ends, invisible zip enclosures and provide optional kapok inserts. The result is a bolster cushion that is not only comfortable, but uniquely stylish.

Cleaning your indigo batik bolster cushion cover & insert.

Cleaning the cover of your bolster cushion is simple. First, remove any filling or insert, then wash by hand in warm water, avoiding the use of chemicals and harsh soaps that could cause the dye to fade. Once clean, hang in a shaded area to dry.

The cotton insert can be washed in a machine or by hand as it is un-dyed, regular cotton. Just remember to remove the filling first!

Keeping your kapok in shape.

A low maintenance cushion filling, kapok just needs a little fluffing every now and again. You can add or remove kapok from the insert in order to find your ideal plumpness. Try to keep the kapok dry – if it gets wet, remove from the insert and let it dry in the sun.
