This custom-length indigo table features authentic Hill Tribe batik patterning on a plant-dyed cotton base. We craft these table runners from rolls of authentic Hmong fabric, each colored using indigo plant dye and adorned with various motifs and patterns using traditional batik techniques. 

The beautiful batik design is made up of simple lines and motifs with a repeating pattern throughout the whole length of the runner. To us, the motifs have a look that seems similar to Celtic designs with a four-leaf clover in the center.

The edges and ends of the runner have been fold stitched, with both tapered and straight end options available.

WHAT ARE HILL TRIBE TEXTILES?

Hill tribe textiles are traditionally woven and dyed by indigenous tribes native to Southeast Asia. There are many hill tribes: the Lisu, Hmong, Karen, and more, each based in various regions of Asia. Hill tribe artisans are skilled in the art of traditional crafts such as textile weaving, metalworking, and more. The Hmong are well known for their rich and vivid indigo-dyed textiles and clothing, while silver Karen jewelry is highly sought after, both due to its beauty and the rich tradition and human touch that goes into every piece.

We’re huge fans of Hmong indigo fabric, as you can tell. We use it to create cushions, pillows, and ottomans, as well as these beautiful table runners.
