Our popular classic, the original Lanna Passa bamboo pendant light. A handwoven fishing trap basket re-purposed into a beautifully minimalistic pendant light.

This is the ceiling / hardwired version. The plug in / swag version is available here.

The in-genius weave design means that the basket is compressible/expandable and can achieve many shapes and positions – the oblong shape is the natural position/shape, while other shapes are achieved simply by compressing from each end, and tying the supplied string inside to pull taut to then hold in desired position.

Each is unique, bamboo is gathered and the basket woven by Northern Thai village artisans, where they would be used as fishing traps, storage, or simply decoration.

A hanging lamp holder can be adjusted with an adjustable metal support bracket so that you can position your bulb anywhere inside the pendant, along with a choice of cable sets to match your style/theme – black, white, or natural wood and rope. Alternatively, you can purchase just the basket pendant itself without a cable set and add your own, or use it as decoration.

SHIPPING

Our lamps are packed with loving care and sent from Northern Thailand via tracked airmail which should reach you in around 12-21 days standard airmail (US, UK, EU, AUS, ASIA), or 5-10 days via Express.

LIGHT BULB

The light bulb is not included. We recommend softer energy saving LED or weaker vintage style bulbs as seen in the pictures to protect the bamboo from heat damage.
Thread style E-26 and E-27 compatible.

NATURAL & HANDWOVEN

As each piece is individually handmade they will differ slightly in size, shape and shade, and may have small marks and wear. The odd bamboo strand may be slightly frayed or snapped, but this does not affect the product, you can optionally trim / snip out and position other strands in it’s place – due to the handwoven nature and natural bamboo strands used, small imperfections like this make each piece unique, but do not affect the design, shaping or use.

INDOOR / OUTDOOR

The natural baskets/pendants themselves can be used both indoors and outdoors, although we recommend a separately purchased cable set made specifically for all weather if using outdoors, as our cable sets are made for indoor use only.

  3. It’s crazy beautiful! Perfect finishes. Flexibility at the rendezvous that allows you to modify the shape! Be careful when opening the package, I gave an unfortunate blow with the cutter and I hope to be able to glue the cut rattan blades… I will install my 2 maxi “olive” lamps at 1/3 of the height on either side of the bed. The +: the electric cord, the socket and the base in the colors coordinated with natural bamboo!
